#1 - The Edge

gyms in leeds with pool

For one of the best fitness experiences in Leeds, the sports centre of the University of Leeds is as good as they come. The Edge, as the name implies, is a cutting-edge, state-of-the-art gym that definitely lives up to the higher price tag.

Their 250-station fitness suite has everything you need from treadmills, elliptical machines, rowing machines, free weights, and resistance equipment. You might want to grab some resistance bands before you join, as they can be useful for warming up or making pull ups easier!

The big selling point is that it uses Technogym equipment, which allows you to create a digital account. With this, you can create personalised fitness plans, be guided through workouts, and track your data to get an insight into the progress that you’re making. This is great for those who don’t necessarily want to work with a trainer, but are keen to have all the data they need to make sure they’re making gains.

They also have 220+ fitness classes, including a women-only strength training course and Krav Maga lessons; a 25m swimming pool; and multiple 8m climbing walls if you want to try something different. You can also book in for squash, table tennis, badminton, football, and other court sports. It’s easy to see why this club made it onto our list of the best gyms in Leeds!

Other services include a sauna, access to physiotherapy and sports massages, and health assessments. So, if you need help with any other aspect of your health journey, you’re in good hands.
