My Personal Training Story: Ian Triathlete

I’m Ian, I’m 31 years-old and a former Careers Advisor. I’m now an aspiring professional triathlete and personal trainer, and am completing my online personal-trainer qualifications with Origym.

I have tried my hand at most sports, but my real passion is triathlon. I took up endurance running 10 years ago and loved it, but during a lay-off for injury I began cycling and swimming – I was hooked! It is now my dream to become a full-time athlete and trainer. Last year I left my job and set out on a roller-coaster ride to make this dream a reality.

My current goal is to achieve a place as an elite amateur in The British Triathlon Team – 30-34 age group. After that? I’d like to become a professional athlete. I know it will put my mind, body and soul to the test, and will require strength, endurance and a whole lot of training!

I am excited about being part of the Origym team. I’m working towards my Level 2 Gym Instructor and Level 3 Personal Trainer qualifications. I am improving my knowledge base and increasing my skillset, equipping me to be able to help others complete their fitness goals. I can highly recommend these courses, along with the excellent personal support I have received from my dedicated tutor.
