Unit 1 - Anatomy and Physiology for Sports Massage Therapy
Learn all about how the body works with specific emphasis on the lymphatic system, including the skin and muscular tissue. Study the science and practise of manual therapy and how to correct both posture and muscular imbalances within your clients.
Unit 2 - The Principles of Exercise, Health and Fitness
Study and comprehend how the body reacts to different forms of exercise, including resistance training, cardiovascular and flexibility. The physiological effects of sports massage on the body and physical effects and benefits.
Unit 3 - Understand the Principles of Soft Tissue Dysfunction
Gain knowledge and understanding of soft tissue injury and dysfunction, the cause and symptoms and how sports massage positively influences the healing process.
Unit 4- Professional Practice in Sports Massage
Learn functional stretching techniques, principles of injury management and rehabilitation as well as soft tissue trauma.
Unit 5 - Sports Massage Treatments
Understand and apply the different types of sports massage and when to apply them, including post sporting events and restorative.
This Level 3 sports massage course is fully recognised and accredited by the following bodies:

The assessment process for the Level 3 Sports Massage course with OriGym is as follows:
- Maintenance massage in a clinical environment – Practical – Pass or Refer
- Pre and Post event massage - Practical – Pass or Refer
- Sports Massage Coursework comprising of assignments and theoretical quizzes – 100% Required

There are no pre-requisite requirements to enrol onto a sports massage course. You just need to be over the age of 16 and have a passion for helping people.
